CIHR Institute of Cancer Research "Bringing Biology to Cancer Survivorship Workshop, Vancouver March-April 2025.

Victoria Forster April 17, 2025

What an honour to attend the CIHR Institute of Cancer Research "Bringing Biology to Cancer Survivorship Workshop" in Vancouver over these past few days with such inspiring and passionate PWLE's, researchers, physicians and patient engagement experts. The workshop identified priority areas in cancer survivorship that could be addressed by biological research. A white paper report on the workshop is being prepared and will be publicly available to all in due course.

On day 1, I ran a panel discussion with PWLE and researchers exploring their experiences and thoughts about effective patient engagement. With thanks to Thomas, Natalie, Megan, Jason, Stéphanie and Mohit for volunteering to participate and sharing their expertise and experiences! Delighted to see how large and impactful organizations such as the Canadian Institutes of Health Research | Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada are thoughtfully prioritizing the inclusion of lived experience/expertise in many different stages of their work.
